Leslie McGrath
Leslie McGrath was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on June 15, 1957. She authored the poetry collections Feminists Are Passing from Our Lives (The Word Works, 2018); Out From the Pleiades: a picaresque novella in verse (Jaded Ibis Press, 2014); and Opulent Hunger, Opulent Rage (Main St. Rag, 2009).
McGrath received the Pablo Neruda Prize for Poetry in 2004 and the Gretchen Warren Prize from the New England Poetry Club. She taught at Central Connecticut State University from 2009 to 2019, and lived in Essex, Connecticut. She died on August 7, 2020. A prize named in her honor was established at the literary magazine The Helix.
