Leonard Schwartz

Leonard Schwartz received his BA in creative writing and literature from Bard College and his MA in philosophy from Columbia University.

Schwartz is the author of Salamander: A Bestiary (Chax Press, 2017); The New Babel: Toward a Poetics of the Mid-East Crises (University of Arkansas Press, 2016); If (Talisman House, 2012); At Element (Talisman House,  2011); A Message Back and Other Furors (Chax Press, 2008); The Library of Seven Readings (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2008); and Language as Responsibility (Tinfish Editions, 2006). He is the coeditor, with Lisa Jarnot and Chris Stroffolino, of An Anthology of New (American) Poets (Talisman House, 1998).

Schwartz is a professor of literary arts at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.
