Laurie K. Watel

Lauren K. Watel is a writer and the author of Book of Potions (Sarabande Books, 2025), winner of the Kathryn A. Morton Prize in Poetry. She earned her MA in English from Hollins College and both an MA and PhD in women’s studies from Emory University. Her work has appeared widely in journals such as The Paris Review, The New York Review of Books, and The Nation. Watel lives in Decatur, Georgia.
