Kyla Pereles is a Puerto Rican poet from Oak Park, Illinois. A four-time member of the slam team at Oak Park and River Forest High School, in 2019 and 2020, she was part of Louder Than a Bomb Squad, Young Chicago Authors’ summer apprenticeship. Pereles received the Gold Key and Gold Medal awards for poetry from Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, and is featured in Friend: Poems by Young People (Macmillan, 2024), edited by Kate Clanchy. She attends Grinnell College in Iowa.
