Kareem James Abu-Zeid

Kareem James Abu-Zeid is an Egyptian American translator. His works include No One Will Know You Tomorrow: Selected Poems, 2014–2024 (Yale Margellos, 2024) and Exhausted on the Cross (NYRB Poets, 2021), both written by Najwan Darwish. Abu-Zeid also published Songs of Mihyar the Damascene by Adunis (New Directions, 2019; Penguin Modern Classics, 2021), co-translated with Ivan Eubanks. 

Abu-Zeid has been the recipient of awards, fellowships, and residencies from PEN America, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Poetry Foundation, the Fulbright Program, the Lannan Foundation, and Banff Centre for the Arts. He lives outside of Santa Fe.
