Julia Tolo

Julia Tolo is a poet and translator from Oslo. She holds an MFA from Queens College, City University of New York. Tolo’s publications include the translation of Paal-Helge Haugen’s pointillist novel Anne from the Norwegian (Hanging Loose Press, 2019), as well as the chapbooks The Day with Jenni Wu (Bottlecap Press, 2022), and mother/cake (Ghostbird Press, 2021).

Tolo brings over a decade of experience in nonprofit development. Before her time at the Academy, she oversaw institutional giving at Powerhouse Arts. She has also held positions at MacDowell, the National Theatre of Norway, Deichman/the Oslo Public Library, PEN America, and McNally Jackson Books.
