Jorge Galán

Jorge Galán is a poet and writer. He is the author of numerous poetry collections, including Apocalipsis líquido [Liquid Apocalypse] (Pre-textos, 2024); Medianoche del mundo [Midnight of the World] (Visor, 2021); and El círculo [The Circle] (Visor, 2014). Also a writer of fiction, he is the author of the fantasy trilogy El país de la niebla (La ruta de las abejas) [The Country of Fog (The Route of the Bees)] (Océano, 2020, 2021, 2022) and other novels. 

Galán’s honors and awards include the 2016 Premio Casa de América de Poesía Americana [Casa de América Prize for American Poetry] and the 2006 Premio Adonáis de Poesía [Adonais Prize for Poetry] for his then-unpublished collection Breve historia del Alba [Brief History of Alba] (Ediciones Rialp, 2007). 

He lives in San Salvador.
