John Pierrepont Rice

John Pierrepont Rice was a translator and professor of Romance languages who taught at Williams College, Acadia University, and the University of Buffalo. He served as the head of the department of Romance Languages at the University of Buffalo from 1924 until his death, on December 24, 1941.
