Janani Balasubramanian

Janani Balasubramanian is an artist and the coauthor of Art-Science Undisciplined: A Playbook for Transformative Collaboration (University of California Press, 2026). Balasubramanian holds a BA and BS from Stanford University.

A New York Foundation for the Arts Fiction Fellow and a Jerome Hill Artist Fellow, he has also received fellowships from MacDowell, the Sundance Institute, and Lincoln Center. He has been an artist in residence at the Public Theater, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Pioneer Works.

Balasubramanian lives in San Francisco on Ramaytush Ohlone land.
