Hermogénes Irisarri

Hermógenes Irisarri Trucíos, born on April 19, 1819, in Santiago, was a Chilean poet, writer, and political figure. He was a contributor in poetry and prose to various literary magazines, including The Journal of Santiago. In 1857 he was elected deputy to the Congreso Nacional de Chile, and again in 1873. Some of his best-known poems include “Al Sol de Septiembre,” “A San Martin,” and “La Mujer Adultera.” He died on July 22, 1886.
