Gennady Aygi


Russian poet Gennady Aygi was born in Shaymurzino, in the Chuvash Autonomous Republic in 1934. He wrote a number of poetry collections, several of which have been translated by editor and translator, Peter France, into English: Time of Gratitude (New Directions Publishing, 2017), Field Russia (New Directions Publishing, 2007), and Child-and-Rose (New Directions Publishing, 2003). He died in 2006.
