Frances Sargent Osgood

Frances Sargent Osgood, also known as “Fanny,” was born on June 18, 1811, in Boston. She was a popular writer of her time and noted for her exchange of romantic poems with Edgar Allan Poe. She authored several poetry collections, including Rose, Sketches in Verse (1842) and The Casket of Fate (1839). She died on May 12, 1850, in New York City.
