Frances Dana Barker Gage

Frances Dana Barker Gage was born on October 12, 1808, in Washington County, Ohio. She was an abolitionist, a reformer, a suffragist, and was part of the temperance movement. In 1863, she became a lobbyist and writer for the American Equal Rights Association. She also wrote books under her pen name, Aunt Fanny, and authored Poems (J. B. Lippincott & Company, 1867). Barker Gage died on November 10, 1884, in Greenwich, Connecticut.
