Emily Igwike

Emily Igwike was born in Milwaukee and raised in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. She is currently studying English and chemistry at Harvard University and serves on the poetry board of the Harvard Advocate. 

Igwike was the 2023 Inaugural Milwaukee Youth Poet Laureate and the 2022 National Student Poet, representing the Midwest. She was also honored as the 2025 Regional Youth Poet Laureate of the Midwest and a 2025 National Youth Poet Laureate Finalist.
