Ed Morales is a Nuyorican poet, as well as a Latinx writer and journalist. He is the author of Fantasy Island: Colonialism, Exploitation, and the Betrayal of Puerto Rico (Bold Type Books, 2019). A 2022–24 Mellon Foundation Fellow at the Center for Puerto Rican Studies, he teaches at the Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race at Columbia University. Morales lives in the Bronx, New York, on Lenape land.
