Ed Morales

Ed Morales is a Nuyorican poet, as well as a Latinx writer and journalist. He is the author of Fantasy Island: Colonialism, Exploitation, and the Betrayal of Puerto Rico (Bold Type Books, 2019). From 1993 to 1995, Morales toured as part of the line up for was the Nuyorican Poets Café Live, and was featured in the anthology ALOUD! Voices from the Nuyorican Poets Cafe (Henry Holt and Company, 1994), edited by Miguel Algarín and Bob Holman.

A 2022–24 Mellon Foundation Fellow at the Center for Puerto Rican Studies, he teaches at the Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race at Columbia University. Morales lives in the Bronx, New York, on Lenape land.
