Dāshaun Washington

Dāshaun Washington is a graduate of both Eastfield College and the University of Texas at Dallas and and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he earned an MFA. 

Washington’s work has appeared in New England Review, Poetry magazine, The Nation, American Poetry Review, and elsewhere. He has received support from Yaddo, the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, Lighthouse Works, the Ucross Foundation, The Watering Hole, and other organizations. He was a 2021 92Y Discovery Poetry Contest runner-up and 2021 Indiana Review 1/2 K Prize finalist.

Washington is a 2023–25 Wallace Stegner Fellow in Poetry at Stanford University and lives in San Francisco.
