Darcy Cummings
Darcy Cummings was born in Philadelphia and raised in Trenton and Camden, New Jersey. She has an MA in literature from the University of Pennsylvania and an MA in poetry from The Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University.
Cummings is the author of two poetry collections: The Artist As Alice (Bright Hill Press, 2006), which won the Bright Hills Press Award, and Singing a Mass for the Dead (Broncho Press, 1996). Her poems have appeared in numerous anthologies, including Orpheus and Company: Contemporary Poems on Greek Mythology (University Press of New England, 1999) and Prayers to Protest: Poems that Center and Bless Us (Pudding House Publications, 1998).
Cummings has received fellowships from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the Dodge Foundation, and the Virginia Center for the Arts.
