Canisia Lubrin
Canisia Lubrin is a writer, editor, and teacher. She is the author of four books: The World After Rain (Soft Skull Press, 2026), long-listed for the Pat Lowther Memorial Award from the League of Canadian Poets; Code Noir (Alfred A. Knopf, 2024); The Dyzgraphxst (McClelland & Stewart, 2020); and Voodoo Hypothesis (Buckrider Books, 2017).
Lubrin is the recipient, among other honors, of the 2021 Windham Campbell Prize, the OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature, the Derek Walcott Prize for Poetry, and the Griffin Poetry Prize. She has held fellowships at the Banff Centre, Civitella Ranieri, and multiple universities.
Lubrin is an assistant professor and coordinator in the creative writing MFA program at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
