Arthur Waley

Arthur David Waley, born on August 19, 1889, in Royal Tunbridge Wells, England, was a scholar and translator of Eastern languages. He was the translator of several titles, including A Hundred and Seventy Chinese Poems (Alfred A. Knopf, 1918) and Japanese Poetry: The Uta (The Clarendon Press, 1919). He died on June 27, 1966.
