Alison Powell
Alison Powell received an MFA from Indiana University and a PhD from the City University of New York Graduate Center.
Powell is the author of Boats in the Attic (Fordham University Press, 2022) and On the Desire to Levitate (Ohio University Press, 2014), winner of the Hollis Summers Poetry Prize. She also published a chapbook of lyric essays titled The Art of Perpetuation (Black Lawrence Press, 2020).
Powell has taught at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and is currently an associate teaching professor of creative writing at Rutgers University. She lives in New Jersey.
