Aaron Shurin

Aaron Shurin has an MA in poetics from the New College of California.

Shurin is the author of fourteen books of poetry and prose, including The Blue Absolute (Nightboat Books, 2020); Flowers & Sky: Two Talks (Entre Rios Books, 2017); Citizen (City Lights Publishers, 2012); A Door (Talisman House Publishers, 2000); The Paradise of Forms: Selected Poems (Talisman House Publishers, 1999).

Shurin has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the California Arts Council, the San Francisco Arts Commission, and the Gerbode Foundation.

Shurin is the former director of the MFA writing program at the University of San Francisco, where he is currently professor emeritus of English.
