As we head toward National Poetry Month, which begins on Wednesday, we feature the Gluck Fellows Program of the Arts at the University of California, Riverside, which will host free poetry events in April. Inspired by the work of Academy Chancellor and UCR Professor of Poetry Emeritus Juan Felipe Herrera, the Gluck Fellows Program is teaming up with Riverside institutions to bring readings and writing workshops to the public.
The events will kick-off on April 2, as the Mosaic Art and Literary Journal hosts an open-mic night at the Riverside Art Museum, where poets and writers can share their work.
Gluck Program creative writing fellows will also give four free poetry workshops on “How to Jumpstart Your Creativity: Electrify Through Poetry and Other Charged Art Forms,” in conjunction with the Inlandia Institute and Cellar Door Books at Canyon Crest Town Center.
