Jessica Jacobs
Jessica Jacobs received a BA from Smith College and an MFA from Purdue University, where she served as editor-in-chief of Sycamore Review.
Jacobs is the author of Unalone (Four Way Books, 2024), poems in conversation with the Book of Genesis; Take Me with You, Wherever You’re Going (Four Way Books, 2019), one of Library Journal’s Best Poetry Books of the Year and winner of the Devil’s Kitchen and Goldie Awards. Her debut collection, Pelvis with Distance (White Pine Press, 2015), a biography-in-poems about Georgia O’Keeffe, won the New Mexico Book Award in Poetry and was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award. Along with Nickole Brown, Jacobs co-authored Write It! 100 Poetry Prompts to Inspire (Spruce Books, 2020).
Jacobs is currently the chapbook editor for Beloit Poetry Journal. Also with Brown, Jacobs co-founded SunJune Literary Collaborative. Additionally, Jacobs is the founder and executive director of Yetzirah, a national nonprofit literary organization for Jewish poets.
