An owl was within my sight

I had never seen one before

It was on a purple and gloomy night

But the owl I did adore

A dust fell from its wings

This happened after shaking itself so quietly

In the silent night the owl sings

The eyes stared upon me so wildly

When the day had begun and the sun had risen

The owl was gone and so was the night

I watched the sun from above shine down and glisten

The owl was missed but its absence lessened my fright

That owl gave me a new sense of wonder

Oh nights like those there is only a small number
