Dear Anne Waldman,
I am a student at 826CHI, and we just read your poem, “Fast Speaking Woman.” I personally thought that when you were reading this poem it was very dramatic! You also (in my opinion) read it like Shakespeare. And why did you choose to write this poem? What inspired you? What does this poem mean to you? In my opinion, poetry was not very interesting. But your poem made me very curious. At school, we were talking about poets and they asked if I was interested in poems. I said no, that poetry wasn’t my strong side. Then when I came to 826CHI and heard your poem I was suddenly curious about poetry. Then I tried making a poem myself and it turned out pretty cool. Thank you for inspiring me with your awesome poetry!
