National Poetry Month is approaching. Here are some events happening around the country for the week of March 28 to April 3.
Arizona Humanities
Arizona Humanities is hosting a series of programs celebrating National Poetry Month during the month of April. Free programs and workshops will take place in Gilbert, the San Carlos Apache Reservation, downtown Phoenix, and Flagstaff.
Norfolk Public Library
Norfolk Public Library will kick off National Poetry Month on April 2 with an event featuring award-winning author and poet Kwame Alexander. Other events include a Poetry Slam for tweens and teens.
Jacksonville Poetry Festival
To celebrate National Poetry Month, the nonprofit organization Hope at Hand is hosting the Jacksonville Poetry Festival in conjunction with Art Walk in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida. The festival will take place on April 6 at the Hemming Plaza Café.
Philly Loves Poetry Festival
Larry Robin, founder of the Moonstone Arts Center in Philadelphia will debut the Philly Loves Poetry Festival this April. Workshops will be held at three different locations: the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts, the Brandywine Workshop, and the Art Sanctuary. The festival will take place April 14 to 17.
