Open Book, which opened in May 2000, is a nonprofit organization founded by the Loft Literary Center, Milkweed Editions and the Minnesota Center for Book Arts. Open Book is a center for those interested in the literary and book arts. Resources include a book club room, individual studios for writers and artists, a resource library, comfortable classrooms and meeting rooms, an exhibition gallery, a performance hall, and a congenial literary commons with conversation nooks.
