You thought it was me.
I saw in your face that you thought
everything I could give you at that moment
was what you needed and no more.
We loved and loved finely and thought
that this is what happiness looks like
and nothing could be better.
It was true; nothing was.
But you know that feeling
when you learn something new and everything
changes? Well, one day you came home
and it was like you had bitten into Eve’s apple—
I could see a bit of juice dried
on your chin.
