This October 25th marks 100 years since the birth of the iconic poet John Berryman. To honor his centennial, here is a new essay on Berryman's legacy, "Henry at One Hundred" by David Wojahn. Also this month, Farrar, Straus and Giroux, who first published The Dream Songs, is publishing a new Berryman selected titled, The Heart Is Strange. At an Academy reading, on Halloween 1963 at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, Berryman read from The Dream Songs for the very first time.
