Nikola Madzirov

Nikola Madzirov is a Macedonian poet from a family of refugees from the Balkan Wars.

His poetry, translated into more than thirty languages, received the international Hubert Burda European Poetry Award and the “Miladinov Brothers” Award for his collection Relocated Stone (2007), published in English as Remnants of Another Age (Boa Editions, 2011). He has held residencies including in the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa, Yaddo, and MacDowell.

Madzirov lives in Strumica, North Macedonia.
