Leigh Hunt

Leigh Hunt was an English poet, essayist, and critic born on October 19, 1784, in Southgate, Middlesex, England. 

Cofounder and editor of the influential radical weekly The Examiner, Hunt was an early champion of the younger Romantic poets, including John Keats, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Robert Browning, and Alfred Tennyson. He authored numerous volumes of his own poetry, including The Story of Rimini (John Murray, 1816) and Juvenilia (J. Whiting, 1801). 

Hunt died on August 28, 1859, in Putney, London, England.
