Words out Loud: Dr. Susana H. Case and Martha Addy Young

Susana H. Case and Martha Addy Young read from their poetry. The evening includes a literary trivia quiz and an open mic.

Susana H. Case is the author of seven books of poetry. Dead Shark on the N Train (Broadstone Books, 2020), is her newest. It won a Pinnacle Book Award for Best Poetry Book and an NYC Big Book Awards Distinguished Favorite. Drugstore Blue, from Five Oaks Press, won an Independent Publisher Book Award (IPPY). She is also the author of five chapbooks, two of which won poetry prizes. Her poems appear widely in magazines and anthologies. Martha Addy Young is the recipient of two Individual Artist Grants from the Washington D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities and a Poet Fellowship from the Martha’s Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing. She was the runner-up for the Bellevue Literary Review’s poetry prize, and a finalist for the Larry Neal Writer’s Award and the Crosswinds Poetry Award. Her poem "Dusk in Dupont Circle" was recently featured in Poetry Daily. She holds an MFA from the University of Maryland.
