#WeToo

This July, the Asian American Writers' Workshop brings together writers who contributed to The Margins notebook, #WeToo, a collection of essays, poems, creative nonfiction, and experimental works, published in collaboration with the Journal of Asian American Studies. The #WeToo reader served as the first collection to provide language and theory for lived-experiences of sexual violence in what is usually dismissed as privileged, unafflicted model-minority life. To answer questions of the socialization of rape culture, and how racialization plays a role, this event will bring in conversation Thaomi Michelle Dinh, Bryan Dan Trinh, Mashuq Mushtaq Deen, Seo-Young Chu, Margaret Rhee and more.

Please keep in mind that this event will discuss material related to sexual violence and rape culture.
