About the Host and Executive Producer:
Amanda Eke is a dynamic and multifaceted artist celebrated for her work as a global poet, documentarian, journalist, and filmmaker. Recognized as “Changing the Face of Poetry” by True Leaders Magazine and a Storytelling Master by the Kingdom of Morocco, Amanda has captivated audiences worldwide with her powerful spoken word performances. She is also a Fulbright Fellow and has been honored with a UN Award for her impactful work. Amanda made her award-winning directorial debut with the film “BIDLA,” which has toured globally and been showcased at numerous film festivals. As a journalist and documentarian, she brings important stories to the forefront, and she hosts an award-winning podcast called “The Poet Speaks,” delving into the world of poetry and spoken word. Her global touring workshop, also named “The Poet Speaks,” teaches participants about African oral traditions, particularly Nigerian and Igbo traditions of rhyme and verse. Her work often explores themes of identity, culture, and the human experience.
