Victoria Garton writes poetry as well as non-fiction features for the cattle industry. She lives on a ranch at Nevada, MO, and has taught English and Literature classes for Crowder College for the past 15 years. A regular contributor at the Phil Miller and Crystal McLean Fields Scholarship readings, her poetry has been in Thorny Locust, The Same, Quarterly West, and Poem. Non-fiction has appeared in Working Ranch and Missouri Angus Trails. Her book Kisses in the Raw Night was published by BkMk Press, UMKC.

Gregg Ventello lost his job as an auditor when the firm he worked for became the largest partner-ship failure in American history. His work has appeared in the Carolina Quarterly, Hotel Amerika, and New Letters. “Das Schweinehund” was recognized as a “Notable Essay” in the Best American Essays 2013. He received a Fulbright Grant to the University of the Ryukyus in Okinawa, Japan for the 2014-2015 academic year. He teaches at Kansas City Kansas Community College.
