A reading to celebrate the release of Kerri French’s poetry collection Every Room in the Body, winner of the 2016 Moon City Poetry Award. The reading will also feature two other writers with recent releases: poet Jennifer Militello will read from A Camouflage of Specimens and Garments (Tupelo Press, 2016), and nonfiction writer and poet Sarah Sweeney will read from her collection of essays Tell Me If You’re Lying (Barrelhouse Books, 2016).
About the Authors:
Kerri French is the author of Every Room in the Body, winner of the 2016 Moon City Poetry Award and forthcoming from Moon City Press in 2017. Her poetry has appeared in Washington SquareReview, Copper Nickel, The Journal, Mid-American Review, Barrow Street, Painted Bride Quarterly, Nashville Review, DIAGRAM, PANK, Best New Poets, and The Southern Poetry Anthology, among others. A North Carolina native, she has lived in Georgia, Massachusetts, Tennessee, and England. Instruments of Summer, her chapbook of poems about Amy Winehouse, is available from Dancing Girl Press. She lives and writes outside of Nashville, TN.
Sarah Sweeney is the author of the essay collection Tell Me If You’re Lying (Barrelhouse Books, 2016). Her poems and essays have appeared in Catapult, Oxford American, Barrelhouse, Greensboro Review, Cimarron Review, Lumina, Quarterly West, PANK, and others. She works as a freelance writer and sometimes lives in Boston and/or Mexico.
Jennifer Militello is the author of A Camouflage of Specimens and Garments (Tupelo Press, 2016), Body Thesaurus (Tupelo Press, 2013), Flinch of Song, winner of the Tupelo Press First Book Award, and the chapbook Anchor Chain, Open Sail. Her poems have been published widely in such journals as American Poetry Review, The Kenyon Review, The New Republic, The North American Review, The Paris Review, and Ploughshares. Militello teaches in the MFA program at New England College. She lives in Goffstown, New Hampshire.
