Innovation Stations: National Poetry Month - Songwriting Your Story

Join us to create your own original songs! Through a mix of journaling, word games, and analysis of great music, we will create songs that reflect our personal experiences. This session will touch on the foundations of lyric and melody writing, with an emphasis on imagery and storytelling.

Facilitator Mel will bring her guitar to bring each song to life! Each songwriter will come away from the workshop with the beginnings of a brand new, original song.

Teens, join us to learn a simple saddle stitch book binding technique to create your own handmade journals, featuring your personal vision board as the cover. On the inside pages, we will write our goals for the future, stemming from activities done together in the session.
