Part of The Poetry Society of New York's Weekly Virtual Workshop Series.
This workshop will bring together embodied and creative practice. We'll begin with gentle, mindful stretching and movement of places that tend to hold emotion and/or "stuckness," such as the hips, neck, spine, wrists and ankles.
Participants will be invited to notice what thoughts, feelings, and sensations come up for them. After moving and checking in with the body, we will have guided prompts to support participants in writing poetry from the body.
