Prose & Cons: Teaching Poetry in Prisons

Having traveled every continent except Antarctica, Lawrence J. Diggs has produced documentaries, written books and made presentations around the world. He founded The International Vinegar Museum in South Dakota, helped plan and build a Buddhist temple in San Francisco and designed and created a national emergency medical system in Burkina Faso, which earned him that country’s Medal of Honor with gold stars. Among other creative endeavors, Diggs teaches poetry in the state’s prisons, which led to the recent publication of Prose and Cons.
