The Wick Poetry Center at Kent State University invites poets, scientists, educators, students, artists, researchers, and members of the public to the Poets for Science Gathering, a three-day interdisciplinary event exploring the connections between poetry and science.
The gathering will feature readings, panels, workshops, participatory events, conversations, an open mic, and a book fair—bringing together writers and scientists to explore the meeting ground between scientific inquiry and the imaginative life.

The Poets for Science Gathering takes place from November 12 to 14, 2026, at Kent State University’s Kent Student Center in Kent, Ohio. Thursday, November 12: Gathering check-in, food and refreshments, and evening programming. Friday, November 13: Morning and afternoon sessions, lunch, dinner, evening programming, and an open mic. Saturday, November 14: Morning and afternoon sessions, lunch, a book fair, dinner, and evening programming. Registration is currently open. Registration options are $275 with meals, $200 without meals, and $150 for students with meals. Limited reduced registration options may also be available based on financial need.
