Join U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith and Academy Chancellor Joy Harjo for a reading and conversation presented by the Lannan Foundation on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 12 p.m., at the Lensic Performing Arts Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Tracy K. Smith, two-time United States poet laureate, said, “Poetry invites us to listen to other voices, to make space for other perspectives, and to care about the lives of others who may not look, sound or think like ourselves.” She has published four books of poetry, including Wade in the Water and Life on Mars, which received the 2012 Pulitzer Prize, as well as the memoir Ordinary Light. Joy Harjo is a poet, writer, performer, playwright, and saxophone player and a member of the Mvskoke/Creek Nation. Her books include She Had Some Horses and How We Became Human: New and Selected Poems 1975–2002.
