Poet Laureate Celebration with the Academy of American Poets & City of Asylum

Take advantage of a rare opportunity to hear from an esteemed group of poets laureate. This Labor Day, City of Asylum welcomes 2019 Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellows Molly Fisk (Nevada County, CA), Paisley Rekdal (Utah), Raquel Salas Rivera (Philadelphia, PA), and Kim Shuck (San Francisco, CA) to read from their work and talk about the important civic role poets play.

The Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellowships are given to honor poets of literary merit appointed to serve in civic positions and to enable them to undertake meaningful, impactful, and innovative projects that engage their fellow residents, including youth, with poetry, helping to address issues important to their communities.

For free tickets, visit City of Asylum online. To continue the community celebration, cookout food will be available for sale after the event.
