Sheila Grimes Hawley, found great inspiration as a classroom teacher for over 30 years, educating children as young as 3 and as old as 14. After attending The Summer Institute for The Favorite Poem Project at Boston University, she created Bridges Over Time, a program which galvanized fourth graders and seniors how poetry connects the generations. She now facilitates the New Hartford Public Schools Poet Laureate Projects in New Hartford, CT, which champions local charities and community members.
