Join us at the Greater Astoria Historical Society for a brief background on Poetry Month, a featured reading by Queens' Poet Laureate (2015-'18) Maria Lisella (who will have books for sale & signing!), + a poetry open mic. Board Member DeeAnne Gorman, also a poet, will lead the evening.
National Poetry Month, each April, is a celebration of poetry introduced in 1996 & organized by The Academy of American Poets as a way to increase awareness & appreciation of poetry in the United States.
