Dell Lemmon spent two years studying mime in Paris with Etienne Decroux, after which she earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in Performance Studies from New York University. She won an award for her dissertation on Michael Fried's theories of theatricality and the contemporary visual arts. Single Woman is her first book.
Terry Phelan is flying in from California where she is former Chair of the Marin Poetry Center and serves on the Steering Committee for the Marin Poet Laureate. Both Fires in Sonoma and her first collection, Husk, are published by Box Turtle Press.
Anna Halberstadt is a shrink in New York who writes poetry in several languages and is married to the internationally famous artist, Vitaly Komar. In addition to Vilnius Diary, her book of translations has just been published in Lithuania.
Jill Hoffman has published Mink Coat (poems) for which she won a Guggenheim and was retrenched from Brooklyn College's M.A. program where she taught with John Ashbery. She has since founded Box Turtle Press, and published along with others, herself, namely Black Diaries. The Gates of Pearl (a book-length poem) is forthcoming.
