LitProv: Joseph Fink and Melissa Broder

Led by Rakesh Satyal (No One Can Pronounce My Name), Melissa Broder, the author behind the Twitter account and essay collection So Sad Today, as well as the "explosive, erotic, scathingly funny" (Entertainment Weekly) debut novel The Pisces, and Joseph Fink, creator of the wildly popular podcasts Welcome to Night Vale and Alice Isn't Dead read from their latest works. First you’ll hear the author’s story as written and then two comedians, Dave Hill of Tru TV's True Crime Detective and Dulcé Sloan of The Daily Show, take the stage to pick up where the author left off. The catch? These comics haven’t quite done their reading.

Have you ever pretended to read the new book everyone’s talking about? Not quite caught up with the New York Times Book Review? Seems like you’re drowning in "Best Of" lists? We all know the feeling, but our exciting new series LitProv takes the pressure off of you and puts it on stage! LitProv brings together new voices in literature, and some of our household-name favorites, to read from their latest works. Then we let loose a couple of comedians to act out what they think happens next without reading the book. Hosted by Rakesh Satyal (No One Can Pronounce My Name), this lovefest of literature and comedy is sure to bring on the laughs and add to your growing TBR pile.

Each event in the series includes a conversation with the authors, a Q&A with the audience, and a book signing on stage following the show. Plus 20% off drinks at Bar Thalia with every ticket purchase!
