IAWA’s Monthly Series Features Tony Gloeggler and Maria Lisella

Celebrate the Italian American Writers Association’s (IAWA) 32nd year of monthly literary readings. An Open Mic precedes two features and a Q&A with the authors. Featuring on July 8 are Tony Gloeggler and Maria Lisella.

A life-long resident of New York City, Tony Gloeggler has managed group homes for the mentally challenged in Brooklyn for more 40 years. Most recently, What Kind Of Man (NYQ Books, 2020) was long-listed for Jacar Press' Julie Suk Award and was a finalist for the Paterson Poetry Prize 2021.

Featured on The Poet and the Poem at the Library of Congress, Queens native, Maria Lisella’s collections include:Thieves in the Family (NYQ Books), her mew work appears in: Stronger Than Fear: Poems of Empowerment, Compassion, and Social Justice; and NYC through the Eyes of the Poets Who Live Here. The sixth Queens Poet Laureate, she is an Academy of American Poets Fellow.
