Hugh C. Hyde Living Writers' Series: Poet and CantoMundo Regional Chair Sara Borjas

The Hugh C. Hyde Living Writers Series, conjointly with the Department of English and Comparative Literature, invite you to the following events that are free and open to the public— with events featuring MFA Faculty, Students, Affiliates, and Alumni. The Living Writers' Series at SDSU is one of the longest continuously running series in the nation.

All events are free and open to the public, and will be held virtually via Zoom (registration links below) and Facebook Live.

Sara Borjas will read from her debut collection, Heart Like a Window, Mouth Like a Cliff, and answer questions from attendees. This event is co-sponsored by SDSU Press and the MALAS Program.

Borjas’ collection, Heart Like a Window, Mouth Like a Cliff, was published by Noemi Press in 2019 as part of the Akrilica series and received a 2020 American Book Award. She was named one of Poets & Writers 2019 Debut Poets, is a 2017 CantoMundo Fellow, represents California as a CantoMundo Regional Chair, and is the recipient of the 2014 Blue Mesa Poetry Prize. Her work can be found in Ploughshares, The Rumpus, Poem-a-Day by The Academy of American Poets, and The Offing, amongst others. She is a lecturer in the Department of Creative Writing at UC Riverside.
