In December 1972, Ron Padgett started the Poetry Project Newsletter, a 2-page mimeographed news bulletin for the Project community. In the fifty years and 270+ issues since, the Newsletter has become the Project’s quarterly publication for book reviews, interviews, poems, arts and music journalism, political reflections, remembrances and more. It’s featured gossip, caustic exchanges, sharp insights; transferred editors three dozen times; and kept a community in touch with itself, even as that community has developed and changed.
