Confluence Poetry Reading

Eugene Gloria is the author of Sightseer in This Killing City (Penguin, 2019); My Favorite Warlord (Penguin, 2012), winner of the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award; Hoodlum Birds (Penguin, 2006); and Drivers at the Short-Time Motel (Penguin, 2000), a National Poetry Series selection and recipient of the Asian American Literary Award. His poems have appeared in The American Poetry Review, The New Republic, Kenyon Review, Memorious, Indiana Review, and The Best American Poetry 2014. He is the John Rabb Emison Professor of Creative and Performing Arts at DePauw University.

Mikkel Snyder is a Filipino American writer based in St. Louis, MO. He currently serves as an editor for FreezeRay Poetry, a pop culture-centric online literary magazine, and a staff writer for Black Nerd Problems. A jack of all trades, Mikkel has experimented with poetry (previous publications at decomP, RadiusLit), miro- and short- fiction, and most recently comic scripts. 

Hyejung Kook’s poetry has recently appeared or is forthcoming in The World I Leave You: Asian American Poets on Faith and Spirit, Half Mystic Radio, The Massachusetts Review, Glass: A Journal of Poetry, Hyphen Magazine, and Pleiades. Other works include an essay in The Critical Flame and a chamber opera libretto. Hyejung was born in Seoul, Korea and now lives in Kansas with her husband and their two young children. She is a Fulbright grantee and a Kundiman fellow.    

Helene Achanzar is a John and Renée Grisham fellow at the University of Mississippi, where she is a senior editor of the Yalobusha Review. She is also a Kundiman fellow. Her recent work can be found in Oxford American and jubilat.

Born and raised in rural Nevada, Rachel Ronquillo Gray is a Kundiman, Pink Door, and VONA fellow. Her work is forthcoming or appears in Tinderbox Poetry, Hyphen Magazine, Tahoma Literary Review, Digging Through the Fat, Radar Poetry, and other places.
